An aluminium dibond plate was photographed and a print of this photograph was then mounted on the same plate. It thus carries an image of itself. At first glance, it is not obvious that it is a photograph. It could just be a raw plate. On closer inspection, however, a gradient in brightness from left to right can be seen, which was caused by the side lighting when the photograph was taken. From close the fine grain of the photographic image and a slight blurring on the edges of the inscription “Dibond” become visible.
